AI as a creative dialogue partner

On a Friday afternoon in January, IDA Leadership Forum had organized an after-work event at Mannaz in central Copenhagen – and I was one of the lucky ones who managed to get a ticket before the event was announced as sold out. The focus was on ‘AI as a creative dialogue partner: Get better ideas – make better decisions’, with a presentation by Christian Byrge, PhD and Professor of team creativity, creative thinking and AI-supported innovation.

It is no secret that I still maintain a certain distance from the use of AI/chatbots. That is why it was good for me to gain a little insight into some of the parameters that are measured and discussed in scientific circles. Such as: The curious, open mind. Equality. Clarity. Cognition. Intuition. Intention. Ethics. Creativity. Context. Source criticism. Imagination. Depth, etc.

Following an engaging presentation, there was ample opportunity to network with a glass in one hand and a couple of artistically crafted canapés in the other (wow). And as it wasn’t a closed forum for IDA members only, I also had the chance to have enriching conversations with other participants outside the STEM sector.

All in all, a thought-provoking event where, amongst other things,
(1) I was reassured that I am not the only person who is still a little sceptical about the use of AI/chatbots, and
(2) became even more motivated to delve into the AI universe – whilst keeping my eye on alternative platforms and services, rather than the mainstream ones.
